DAY 1 – WADI BANI HABIB TO JABEL AL AKHDAR
The adventure starts with trekking that will take in WadiBani Habib Village and end with us camping under the stars on Jebel al AkhdarMountain.
DAY 2 – WADI GHUL TO GRAND CANYON OF OMAN TO JABEL SHAMS
Today’s trek takes in WadiGhul village which is 700 meters above sea level, two abandoned villages and through a wadi before arriving back where we started. We’ll then drive up to the plateau of Jebel Shams to take in the amazing views, and then we’ll head out on foot to explore the Grand Canyon of Oman along the Balcony Walk. The day will end with us at the Jabel Shams Resort where we’ll spend the night.
DAY 3 – JABEL SHAMS TO MISFAH AL ABRIYEEN
We’ll make an early start today to give us time to trek to the summit of Jabel Shams whose peak is 3004 meters (10,000ft up). Our journey will start and end at the plateau and promises everyone an awesome experience. After our descent, we’ll be driven to Misfah Al Abriyeen where we’ll stay the night in the Mud Houses Hotel.
DAY 4: Misfah Al Abriyeen TO Birkat Al Sharaf.
Today’s trek will take us from our overnight location of Misfah Al Abriyeen in the direction of Birkat Al Sharaf, along an ancient route used by locals for many years. Donkeys will help us transport our equipment, food and water and we’ll camp overnight at Birkat Al Sharaf.
DAY 5 - BaladSeet TO WadiBaniAwf
Time to get those walking boots back on as we head off to BaladSeet village, such a great spot to enjoy amazing views. The day will also see us visit Al Hamra and WadiBaniAwf, and cross to the far side of the Al Hajarmountains on a moderately challenging walk (no rope is required). We’ll have definitely earned a good rest on this day, and will spend the night in the Bimah Guest House.
DAY 6 - WADI MISTAL TO MUSCAT
Today, our final day, will start with a drive to an attractive wadi west of Jebel al Akhdar, called the WadiMistal. From there we’ll trek one last time to Wakan Village. Then we’ll drive back to Muscat where we’ll say our farewells and head off home (most likely via the airport).
